Christmas Cookies to be precise.
Kristin Johnson of Palm Desert is co-author of the
new book, Christmas Cookies Are For Giving. (Tyr Publishing; September
2003, $16.95 Hardcover) Ms Johnson will be a featured author at
this years book fair, The Desert Woman.
Along with the outstanding recipes that youd
expect, this book is much more than a cookbook. In fact the book
is more about the stories and anecdotes that the co-authors (family
friends since early childhood) wrote and collected. It is a book
about the joy of giving and sharing with family and friends. The
end result of delicious and delightful looking treats is just
a bonus accompanying the joyous labor and giving that engenders
the true Christmas spirit.
The book would not be complete however, without
some very special recipes and tips for shipping and gift giving.
The Desert Woman generally gets 100 people at its
monthly events. The Mini-Book Fair and Luncheon is November 9,
11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Rancho Mirage Country Club, 38500 Bob Hope
Drive, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270.
Call 363-6284 for information and reservations.
The cost is $20 for Desert Woman Partners (members), $25 for Non-Partners.
